Alex Hazell

Head of UK Privacy and Legal at Acxiom

Alexander Hazell is the current Head of UK Privacy and Legal at Acxiom. Alex has held this position since June 2003. Prior to that, they were with PSINet as Legal Counsel from January 2000 to June 2003. Alex was poached from UUNET to set up the in-house legal department at PSINet. At UUNET, they served as Legal Counsel for the Internet Division from October 1998 to December 1999. Before that, they were with Marconi PLC as Legal Advisor from October 1997 to October 1998, working on the Astute Class submarine project. Their first job out of law school was with Heilig Heinz und Rohde, a German law firm, where they worked as a legal intern from January 1988 to December 1989.

Alex Hazell attended Caversham Primary School before passing the 11-Plus and moving on to Reading School. From there, they went to the University of Surrey to earn a Joint Honours Degree in Law & German. Alex then attended BPP Law School to become a Solicitor (Grade A). Afterwards, they pursued a career in Privacy and Data Protection Law by getting a Certification from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in CIPP(E).
