Camila Flórez Bossio, PhD, is a seasoned professional in climate change adaptation and policy, currently serving as a Senior Research Associate at the Canadian Climate Institute and as a Climate Adaptation Consultant for the Adaptation Fund. With a robust academic background, including a Doctor of Philosophy in Geography from McGill University and a Master of Science in Environmental Governance from the University of Freiburg, Camila has extensive experience in various research and consultancy roles related to climate change. Previous positions held include Postdoctoral Researcher at Université de Montréal, Climate Change Consultant for the Global Environment Facility at the World Bank Group, and involvement in significant projects such as the conceptualization of workshops for COP 20 in Peru. Adaptation Fund
Since 2010, the Adaptation Fund has committed about US$ 1.1 billion for climate change adaptation and resilience projects and programmes, including over 165 concrete localized adaptation projects in the most vulnerable communities of developing countries around the world with over 43 million total beneficiaries. It also pioneered Direct Access, empowering countries to access funding and develop projects directly through accredited national implementing entities.
