Usman Shoukat

Lead Chemical Engineer at ADAPTAVATE

Usman Shoukat has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Usman began their career as a Trainee Engineer at Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd in 2008. Usman then worked as a Project Engineer at DESCON Engineering Qatar, L.L.C. Doha from 2009 to 2011. Usman joined Procede Group BV as a Trainee Engineer in 2012 and continued in the role for a short period in 2013.

In 2014, Usman began their research career at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) as an Associate Research Fellow/PhD, a role they held until 2019. During this time, they also served as a Research Fellow at NTNU from 2019 to 2019. Usman then joined the University of Birmingham as a Research Technical Officer in 2020 and remained in the role until 2023.

Currently, Usman Shoukat is working as a Lead Chemical Engineer at ADAPTAVATE, starting from May 2023.

Usman Shoukat has a strong educational background in Chemical Engineering. Usman earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering from the COMSATS Institute of Information and Technology in 2009. Usman then pursued further studies at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Chemical Engineering in 2013. Usman continued their academic journey at NTNU and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Chemical Engineering in 2019.

In addition to their formal education, Usman has also obtained several certifications. These include the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, which they earned in 2011. Usman also holds certifications in OLGA Flow Assurance, OSHA Construction Safety and Health, ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2006, and Piping Design and Analysis. Currently, they are pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) at the University of Birmingham, as well as the NEBOSH National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals at NEBOSH.
