Karen Chagin

Karen Chagin, MD, serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Context Therapeutics since June 2025 and holds the position of SVP Early Stage Development at Adaptimmune since September 2023. Previously, Chagin was the Chief Medical Officer at Tmunity Therapeutics Incorporated from April 2019 to October 2023, where additional roles included SVP, Head of Clinical Development and Clinical Operations, and VP, Head of Clinical Development. Before that, Chagin contributed to Adaptimmune as VP of Medical, Clinical Development from March 2016 to April 2019. Chagin's experience also includes a role as Director of Early Development at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson from December 2014 to February 2016, as well as medical director positions at GlaxoSmithKline focusing on oncology from July 2009 to December 2014. Chagin's early career involved a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and chief residency at Children's Memorial Hospital. Educational credentials include an M.D. from Temple University - Lewis Katz School of Medicine and a B.A. in Biology and Spanish from the University of Pennsylvania.
