Mariya Smit

Mariya Smit is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in molecular biology and genomics, currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. since April 2019. Previous roles include Senior Scientist at Covance Genomics Laboratory, where key contributions involved DNA methylation biomarker analysis and NGS platform comparison, and a contract Scientist position at Intelliswift Software for Bio-Rad Laboratories, focusing on DNA assay development. Earlier experience encompasses significant research at institutions such as Oregon Health and Science University, Cascade Biosystems, and the University of Washington, covering areas like microbial community analysis and assay development for innovative biosensors. Mariya holds a Ph.D. in Biology from the Institute of Plant Physiology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a Master’s Degree from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
