Sean Cater

Sean Cater is a Senior Scientist at Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. since February 2021, specializing in managing project teams for immuno-repertoire dataset collection and developing workflows for NGS immunoassay products. Prior experience includes roles as Scientist II in Molecular Research & Innovation at Adaptive Biotechnologies, where assay designs and data mining were key responsibilities. At Zymergen, Inc., Sean led teams to develop genetic tools for challenging bacterial strains and implemented high-throughput strain build processes. Sean's earlier tenure at Bio-Rad Laboratories and UCSF involved microfluidics, reagent synthesis, and the development of assay workflows and devices. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin.
