Fred Aslan

Dr. Fred Aslan is Brazilian, founder of Adavium Medical (formerly Advance Medical) and associated since 2006 with Venrock, one of the leading Venture Capital companies in Silicon Valley. He was co-founder and board member of Receptos Pharmaceuticals, a NASDAQ-listed biotechnology company later acquired by Celgene for over $8 billion. He led Venrock's investment in Zeltiq, a NASDAQ-listed medical device company valued at more than $1 billion. Previously, he was Director of Business Development and led Investor Relations at CuraGen, a NASDAQ-listed biotechnology company focused on oncology, as well as a strategy consultant for the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Dr. Aslan was recognized in 2014 as “Management and Business Professional of the Year” by the Brazilian Industrial Development Agency, which highlights the achievements of Brazilians living abroad. He is a board member of Femasys, a US-based women's health medical device company; and BayBrazil, a non-profit organization based in Silicon Valley that seeks to promote ties between Silicon Valley and Brazil.
