Director Of Scholastic Prevention at Addiction Professionals of North Carolina (APNC)

Emmy Knowles, MSW, CQEP has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Emmy started their career as a Volunteer Coordinator at the Hunger and Health Coalition in 2015 and later became a Resource Coordinator. In 2016, Emmy worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Appalachian State University. The following year, they joined Habitat for Humanity of Wake County as a Volunteer Engagement Coordinator. In 2018, Emmy worked at Addiction Professionals of North Carolina (APNC) as a Program Coordinator and later became the Interim Executive Director. Emmy then transitioned to the role of Community Impact Manager and Collegiate Outreach and Implementation Liaison. In 2020, Emmy started their own business, Rooted Oak, as the Owner. Currently, they are working at APNC as the Director of Scholastic Prevention.

Emmy Knowles, MSW, CQEP, obtained a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Appalachian State University in 2017 after completing their Bachelor's degree in Social Work at the same institution in 2016. In addition to their academic achievements, Emmy has several certifications that complement their educational background. Emmy became a Certified Quality Event Planner (CQEP) through MSI Certified in January 2020. Emmy also holds certifications as a Mental Health First Aid Trainer from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing (obtained in July 2022), a Bridging Prevention and Recovery Trainer from the SAFE Project (Stop the Addiction Fatality Epidemic) (obtained in November 2021), and a RYT 500 certification from Yoga Alliance (obtained in October 2021). Furthermore, they are a certified Yoga Instructor at both Level I and Level II, earned through Yoga Alliance and My Vinyasa Practice, LLC, respectively (both obtained in August 2019). Additionally, Emmy has a Level 1 Circuit certification from Arrichion, obtained in August 2019.
