Lucy Nicholas is an experienced marketing professional with a diverse background in event marketing, campaign management, and communications. Currently serving as a Marketing Business Partner at the Adelaide Economic Development Agency since January 2021, Lucy has previously held roles including Marketing Advisor at the City of Adelaide and Marketing Coordinator at the South Australian Tourism Commission, where responsibilities included managing marketing for major events like Tasting Australia and the Adelaide Fashion Festival. Prior experience includes various marketing and communications positions at the Motor Accident Commission, Guide Dogs SA/NT, and the Adelaide City Council, highlighting a strong foundation in campaign strategy, sponsorship coordination, and social media management. Lucy holds a Master of Marketing from the University of South Australia and a degree in Media and International Studies from the University of Adelaide.
Adelaide Economic Development Agency
The Adelaide Economic Development Agency commenced operating in January 2021. The City of Adelaide recognised the importance of the need to accelerate economic growth in the City, and as part of its 2020-2024 Strategic Plan, sought to design and implement a new city-wide business model. This has led to the creation of AEDA. AEDA has been established as a subsidiary of the City of Adelaide under Section 42 of the Local Government Act 1999 (SA). AEDA will work closely with businesses, industry groups, state government agencies and other relevant organisations to deliver a range of programs designed to stimulate the city’s economic growth with a focus on investment attraction, growing our visitor economy, residential growth, marketing the city as a whole and promoting Rundle Mall as Adelaide’s premier shopping destination.
