Shanti Berggren

Shanti Berggren currently serves as General Counsel and Executive Director of Legal Services at the University of Adelaide, starting April 2024. Berggren is also a Board Member of the Adelaide Football Club and HomeStart Finance, contributing expertise to these organizations since 2021 and 2017, respectively. Prior experience includes significant roles at Optus from 2002 to 2024, including Head of Procurement and Deputy General Counsel, where legal and governance advice was provided to the leadership teams. Additionally, Berggren was Chair of the Board of Directors at Wilderness School from 2007 to 2023, and served on the University of Adelaide Law School Advisory Board from 2016 to 2018. Early career roles included General Counsel at One.Tel Pty Limited and a lawyer at Gilbert + Tobin. Berggren holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Adelaide, complemented by a California Bar Exchange Scholarship.
