Emilia Zarco has extensive experience in health education and academic leadership, having served as Chair of the Department of Health and Sport Sciences at Adelphi University from September 2001 to August 2013, where responsibilities included overseeing academic programs, managing a $4.2 million budget, and providing leadership in teaching and scholarship. As an Associate Professor, Emilia taught health education courses and directed the Community Health Education graduate program, while also holding the position of Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. Prior experience includes faculty roles at Southeastern Louisiana University and the University of the Philippines Diliman, where Emilia taught health education and managed departmental operations. Emilia's academic qualifications include a Master of Education in Health Education from the University of the Philippines and a medical degree from West Visayas State University.
