Arun Bhat

Arun Bhat has a diverse range of work experience in the biomedical research field. Arun started their career at the Oregon Health & Science University and the University of California, San Francisco as a Postdoctoral Scholar and Research Scholar, respectively. Arun then joined Exelixis Inc. as a Research Scientist II, where they played a key role in developing processes and pipelines for high-throughput protein expression and production. Arun also worked on gene expression, successfully expressing over 60 different genes.

After their time at Exelixis, Arun joined Scios Inc. (a Johnson & Johnson Co) as a Senior Scientist II, where they headed the molecular biology, expression, and sequencing groups. Arun was responsible for target literature reviews, choosing expression systems, and overseeing the groups' activities.

Arun then worked at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) as a Research Investigator. Here, they generated recombinant proteins in various systems and played a role in assays, structure biology, NMR, target identification, and validation.

Arun continued their career at the Seattle Children's Ben Towne Center for Cancer Research as a Senior Staff Scientist, focusing on using immunotherapies to target and eliminate pediatric cancers.

Arun then joined Immune Design as a Scientist, working in the field of molecular virology.

Currently, they are employed at Adicet Bio, Inc, first as a Principal Scientist in Molecular Engineering and later promoted to the role of Senior Director, where they continue to contribute their expertise in molecular engineering.

Arun Bhat completed their education in a chronological manner, beginning with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Microbiology and Biochemistry from the University of Tasmania from 1985 to 1988. Subsequently, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Microbiology from Oregon State University, which took place from 1988 to 1990. Arun then attended Oregon Health & Science University, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Immunology, studying under the guidance of the Rittenberg Lab, from 1990 to 1994. Finally, they completed their education at Oregon Health & Science University once again, this time achieving a Ph.D. (Druker Lab) in Cellular Biology with a specialization in Cell Signaling, which spanned from 1994 to 1997.
