Jyothi began their career as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Manitoba from 2002 to 2008. Jyothi then pursued a Ph.D at the same university, where their research focused on genetic alteration in mammalian cells using homing endonucleases.

Following their Ph.D, Jyothi worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where they conducted research on drug resistance in melanoma cells. Jyothi utilized in-vivo melanoma xenografts to demonstrate intrinsic drug resistance in patient tumors.

Jyothi then joined the Montreal Jewish General Hospital as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, where they conducted integrative analyses to identify miRNAs involved in drug resistance in Triple Negative Breast Cancer cell lines. Jyothi also collaborated with Sanofi Aventis, Canada for pre-clinical models.

Jyothi'scareer then transitioned to industry roles, starting with a position as Senior Scientist at Intezyne Technologies. Here, they led a project investigating the impact of IT-139 and IT-141 on cancer cells, demonstrating their inhibitory effects and correlation with tumor regression.

Jyothi continued their industry career as a Senior Scientist at Iovance Biotherapeutics, conducting research focused on immune cell therapy. Jyothi then moved on to Northeaster University as a Research Scientist, optimizing CAR-T cell transduction and exploring the use of T cells in tumor draining lymph nodes versus tumor infiltrating lymphocytes.

At TCR2 Therapeutics Inc., Jyothi held the role of Senior Scientist, focusing on T cell process development. Jyothi then joined Nurix Therapeutics as a Principal Scientist, where they played a pivotal role in building a fully functioning process development lab and training a team. Jyothi led the successful transfer of a drug process to manufacturing organizations while implementing key process changes to maximize cell expansion.
