Leila Makdisi

Leila Makdisi is a seasoned education professional with extensive experience in science and museum education. Currently serving as the Senior Manager of School and Family Experience at Adler Planetarium since December 2024, Leila has previously held key roles such as Education Coordinator at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago and Visitor Studies Researcher at The Morton Arboretum. Leila's expertise also includes facilitating hands-on science programs and conducting visitor research at institutions like the Field Museum and the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago. With a Master of Arts in History and Philosophy of Physics from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Physics with a concentration in Astronomy and Planetary Science from Bard College, Leila combines strong academic credentials with a passion for engaging diverse audiences in science education.
