Pun Tong

Pun Tong has extensive work experience in various technology and software development roles. Pun started their career at Apertus Technologies, Inc. as a Software Engineer before moving on to Ansoft Corporation, where they worked as a Software Engineer and led a team in porting the company's flagship CAD software. Pun then joined Bloomberg as a Software Developer, where they spearheaded the conversion of large legacy platforms to Java and maintained and enhanced a GUI builder used by over 400 software engineers.

Pun's next role was at the Online Promotion Company, where they served as the Director of Software Development, leading and managing a team of developers and architecting an innovative automation system. Pun then became self-employed and founded a wholesale pet supplies company, overseeing all aspects of the business and managing day-to-day operations.

Afterwards, Pun worked as an Independent Professional, designing and developing a robust website, creating an Android dating app, and developing a live wallpaper app. Pun then joined Smarter Agent as a Senior Java Architect, where they developed customized web and mobile applications for real estate brands and orchestrated the migration of backend systems to the Amazon cloud.

Following their time at Smarter Agent, Pun joined Assessment Innovation, Inc. as a Principal Software Architect, where they designed and architected a scalable platform for cognitive assessments and engineered robust encryption solutions. Pun then joined Pride Global as a Lead Systems Architect, spearheading the development of the AWS infrastructure and leading the company's transition to a microservices-based architecture.

Currently, Pun is working at adMarketplace as a Senior DevOps Engineer, where they architected and built the infrastructure for a large-scale distributed Ad platform on Kubernetes. Pun also migrated data pipelines to Argo Workflows, mentored software engineering teams, and fostered a culture of innovation and best practices.

Pun Tong obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Stony Brook University, where they studied from 1990 to 1994. In addition, Pun Tong holds certifications including AWS Certified Developer Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate, and Sun Certified Java Programmer from institutions such as Amazon Web Services and Sun Microsystems.
