Mikita Weaver began their professional career in 2002 as an ESL Teacher and Bonner Scholar Team Leader at Misión Mazahua. In 2006, they served as a Mentor for the International Partnership for Service Learning at Sor Dominga Salesiano Fundación. In 2007, they worked as a Program Coordinator for Teen Mentoring, Students for Appalachia. In 2008, they were an Instructor and Female Head Resident at TRIO Talent Search. In 2009, they worked as a Summer Law Clerk at Legal Aid of West Virginia and as an Associate Attorney at Northrup Schlueter. In 2011, they were an Executive Writer at Agency for Dispute Resolution, Inc. In 2013, they were an Associate Attorney at Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP. In 2015, they were an Associate Attorney at Seastrom Tuttle & Murphy. From 2010 to present, they have been the Editor-in-Chief at ADR Times, Inc.
Mikita Weaver completed a B.A. in Philosophy at Berea College in 2008, magna cum laude. Mikita then attended West Virginia University College of Law to obtain a Juris Doctorate, which they completed in 2009. Weaver then attended Pepperdine University and obtained a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, in 2011, as well as a Masters in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute at Pepperdine University. Mikita also obtained a Certificate in Dispute Resolution and Certification in International Law from Pepperdine University. Prior to attending Berea College, Weaver attended Bethany College and completed an Audit in 2003.
