Michael Murray

Michael Murray is a seven-time, Prime Time Emmy nominated Director of Photography, cinematographer, adventurer and businessman. He has a reputation for acquiring imagery under extreme conditions and brought his creative influence to the first season of Mark Burnett’s Survivor .

Michael started Adrenaline Films in 1991, a company which today leads the central Florida production community with a team of thirty full-time staff. AF owns and operates a 24,000 sq ft facility that includes production stages, editorial rooms, control and mixing rooms, production offices and more. As the owner and president of the company, Michael has entrepreneurial and business experience that give him a unique perspective on producing financially and artistically successful projects. AF’s short list of clients include: ABC, NBC, CBS, Universal Studios, Mark Burnett Productions, BBC, Discovery Channel, History Channel and HBO.

Although intimately involved in his business, Michael continues to contribute to broadcast programming and was the director of photography on the first eight seasons of CBS’s Survivor. In 2006, he was the director of photography for the unscripted drama, The Contender with Sugar Ray Leonard and Sylvester Stallone. In 2007, Murray shot Running the Sahara, a documentary feature narrated by Academy Award winner, Matt Damon. In 2008, Murray directed the cinematography for History Channel’s Expedition Africa, a documentary series following modern-day explorers as they retraced Sir Henry Morton Stanley’s famous 1865 quest to find Dr. David Livingstone.

In addition to Broadcast programming, Murray and AF have been producing national and regional television commercials, including the 2011 National Television campaign for Universal Studios Florida.
