Rafael E. Carazo Salas

Rafael E. Carazo Salas has a diverse work experience in the fields of cellular and molecular medicine, genetics, and biochemistry. Rafael E. is currently serving as the Founder/CEO of CellVoyant, a position they started in January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Fellow at The Alan Turing Institute, starting in September 2021. From October 2016 onwards, they held the position of Professor at the University of Bristol's School of Cellular and Molecular Medicine. Rafael E. Carazo Salas has an extensive education background. Rafael E. started their educational journey at Lycée Rochambeau in Washington DC, where they completed their high school education from 1983 to 1985. Later on, from 1982 to 1990, they attended Liceo Franco Costarricense and obtained the French Baccalauréat D degree.

In 1991, Rafael enrolled at Concordia University, where they pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. Rafael E. completed their undergraduate education in Physics in 1995.

Eager to further explore the field of Physics, Rafael moved to the University of Cambridge in 1995 and studied there for a year, acquiring a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) in Physics.

Rafael then decided to expand their knowledge by exploring the interdisciplinary aspects of Physics and Biology. From 1996 to 1997, they attended Paris-Sud University (Paris XI) and completed their DEA (Diplôme d'Études Approfondies) in Physics and Biology.

Subsequently, Rafael pursued their Ph.D. from the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in conjunction with Université Paris VII from 1997 to 2001. Rafael E.'sdoctoral research focused on the interplay between Physics and Biology.

After the completion of their Ph.D., Rafael embarked on a postdoctoral research position at CRUK, London Research Institute. Rafael E. held this role from 2002 to 2007, immersing himself in cutting-edge research.
