Michael Schaefer

Michael Schaefer has over 25 years of experience in various IT roles. Michael is currently working as an IT Director at Adtalem Global Education, where they oversee the portfolio and delivery for faculty, partners, and corporate colleagues. Prior to this, they worked at Walden University as an IT Director for academic solutions. From 2009 to 2021, they were employed at Laureate Education, where they served as a Director of Academic Solutions for the online division. Michael was responsible for managing the team and products related to student and faculty portals, mobile applications, and back-end services. Before that, they worked at the University of Maryland University College as a Director of Special Projects/IT, managing staff and budgets and creating policies and procedures. Michael also held positions as the Director of Technical Services at B-Line Medical, Manager of Web Services at Xspedius Communications, and Manager of Web Services at e.spire Communications. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Sr. Internet Architect at Fitness Today and as an Information System Administrator at Johns Hopkins University.

Michael Schaefer obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in the Executive Program from Walden University from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Information Technology (IFSM) from the University of Maryland Baltimore County from 1993 to 1997. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as "Overcoming Complexity" and "Becoming an Impactful and Influential Leader" from LinkedIn, as well as the "Agilist (SA) Certification Program" and "SAFe® 4 Certified Agilist" from Scaled Agile, Inc.
