Ion Nicolaescu

Ion Nicolaescu has extensive experience in research and development across various industries, including medical, industrial, and defense applications. Currently serving as a Senior R&D Engineer at Advanced Cooling Technologies, Inc., since October 2021, Ion specializes in heat management solutions. Previous roles include Senior Design Engineer at Ethicon, Inc., where Ion developed electrosurgery equipment and ultrasonic acoustic chains, and Senior R&D Engineer at Hospira, focusing on sensors for medical devices. Ion's earlier positions include Research Engineer at SRC, where Ion developed a high-performance gravity gradiometer, and Senior Energy Analyst at Science Applications International, working on life cycle assessments for energy technologies. With a solid foundation in physics, Ion holds a PhD in Physics of Materials and an MS in Chemical Engineering from The City University of New York, complemented by a BS in Physics from the University of Bucharest.
