Sophie Watterson

Sophie Watterson is an experienced professional in environmental policy and advocacy, currently serving as a Fellow at the Clean Energy Leadership Institute since August 2024 and as Policy Principal at Advanced Energy United since August 2022. Previous roles include Policy Associate at Advanced Energy United, Policy Coordinator at the Missouri Coalition for the Environment, and Research Analyst at the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Sophie has a strong background in community engagement, policy research, and environmental justice, demonstrated through roles in various organizations including a focus on industrial animal agriculture and air and water quality monitoring projects. An alumna of Washington University in St. Louis, Sophie holds a Bachelor's degree with majors in Environmental Policy and Spanish, and a minor in Latin American Studies.
