Lyle Roberts PhD has a wide range of work experience, beginning with a Systems Engineer role at Anewtech Systems in 2010. Lyle then moved to the NASA Ames Research Center in 2012, where they were a NASA Academy Student and Visiting Researcher. From 2012 to 2015, they were a Product Engineer and Hardware Engineer (FPGA) at Liquid Instruments. In 2012, they also began a Postdoctoral Researcher role at The Australian National University, where they developed techniques for ultra-weak light phase tracking, investigated continuous-variable QKD communications protocols, and designed low-latency measurement and feedback control architectures. Lyle then became a Research Fellow at the same university until 2021. In 2021, they began a role as Chief Executive Officer at Vai Photonics, where they design and builds sensors. Most recently, they began a role as Head of Photonics and Photonics Hardware Manager at Advanced Navigation in 2022.
Lyle Roberts received their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics from The Australian National University in 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Telecommunications, Electrical, Mechatronics, Systems from The Australian National University in 2011, and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Physics from The Australian National University in 2011.
