Joseph Shonkwiler

Joseph Shonkwiler, MD, MBA, currently serves as the Founding Chief Operating Officer at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), where the focus is on advancing innovative biomedical and health research. Previous roles include creating and hosting the AWS Health Innovation Podcast at Amazon Web Services and leading the nationwide implementation of population health management software as Vice President at Aledade, Inc. Notable experience also includes serving as CEO of CollectedMed, LLC, and as Vice President of Business Development at Redstar Ventures. Joseph's educational background encompasses a Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University, a Master of Public Policy from Princeton University, and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management. Additionally, a background in legislative policy includes work as a Healthcare Legislative Assistant for a U.S. Senator.
