Michael Chaffin

Michael Chaffin is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in aerospace and systems engineering. Currently serving as Principal Software Engineer at ASI by Rocket Lab since January 2020, Michael has led significant projects related to NASA missions, including the Janus mission and Lunar Trailblazer. Prior to this role, Michael worked at Advanced Solutions Inc from February 2012 to January 2020, focusing on payload processing for satellite missions and integrating software for geostationary operational satellites. Additional roles include software engineering positions at CaridianBCT, Sierra Nevada Corporation, MicroSat Systems Inc., and ITN Energy Systems, contributing to embedded systems, automation, and spacecraft avionics. Michael holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Colorado State University.
