Alex Chernyak

Alex Chernyak has been in the software development industry since 1994. Alex began their career at Infocom Systems Services, Inc. as a Senior Software Developer. In this role, they were responsible for needs analysis, system design, database design, programming, performance tuning and post-installation support. Alex also had strong database development skills and experience in all versions of Microsoft SQL Server. In 2017, Alex moved to Advent Intermodal Solutions LLC as a Senior SQL Server Developer. Here, they worked on design of new code as well as modification of existing code for a user interface layer done in SSRS 2012. Alex also developed complex parameter passing, report paging, and customized export to Excel handling for the SSRS forms. In 2019, Alex took on the role of Application Team Lead at Advent Intermodal Solutions LLC, as well as a SQL Specialist role at Safe Horizon. At Safe Horizon, they maintained multiple DB Servers from 2008 to 2017, did upgrades, set up maintenance packages, monitored the health, backups, disk and memory usage, and performed index tuning. Alex also monitored and modified SSIS packages which updated and synchronized information between production, reporting and check-printing databases. Additionally, they created complex SQL procedural code in SQL Server 2016 for use by the SSRS objects for Eccovia Case Management System and Restitution System, and custom database enhancements of Eccovia Case Management System including custom tables, views, triggers, functions and stored procedures.

Alex Chernyak has a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Moscow State University of Railway Engineering. Alex also has several certifications from LinkedIn and Microsoft, including Creating Interactive Dashboards in Tableau, Tableau 10: Mastering Calculations, Tableau Essential Training, MCSE: Data Management and Analytics, MCP - Querying Data with Transact-SQL, and MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Development, which were obtained in 2019, 2017, and 2019, respectively.
