Gregg Treinish began their career as a Head Hiker for Across the Andes in 2006. In 2008, they worked as a Wildlife Biologist, conducting research on Spotted Owls in California and Pallid Sturgeon on the Missouri River in Montana. Gregg also became an Explorer for National Geographic in 2008. In 2009, they worked as an Assistant Program Director for Wild Things Unlimited, tracking Lynx, Wolverines, and Grizzly Bears, as well as developing educational programs and conducting Citizen Science. Gregg also worked as a Senior Team Leader for Three Rivers Montana Wilderness Therapy, running the basecamp and supervising over 20 field staff. In 2010, they founded and became Executive Director of Adventure Scientists, providing access to data collected from the outdoors to unlock solutions to the world's environmental challenges. In 2020, they became a Young Global Leader and a Member of the Global Futures Council (Sustainable Tourism) for the World Economic Forum.
Gregg Treinish received their Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2002. Gregg then obtained an EMT-B certification from Wilderness Medical Associates International. In 2008-2009, they attended Montana State University-Bozeman, where they earned a degree in Biological Sciences with a focus on Ecology and Evolution. In 2018, they completed an Executive Program for Nonprofit Leaders at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. In 2021, they obtained a Certificate in Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century from Harvard Kennedy School.
