Nancy Ghanayem

Cardiac Intensivist at Advocate Children's Hospital

Nancy Ghanayem, MD MS, serves as a Professor of Pediatrics and the Chief of Pediatric Critical Care at UChicago Medicine since July 2020, and concurrently holds the position of Cardiac Intensivist at Advocate Children's Hospital. Previously, Nancy Ghanayem directed Complex Cardiac Care at Texas Children's Hospital and was a Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine from January 2017 to June 2020. Nancy Ghanayem's earlier experience includes roles such as Professor of Pediatrics (Critical Care) and Clinical Director of Cardiac Critical Care at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin from 1999 to 2016. Educational credentials include an M.D. from Rush Medical College, a B.S. in Biochemistry from Illinois Benedictine College, and an MS in Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety from Northwestern University. Training also includes experiences at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne.
