Steven Smoot

Steven Smoot currently serves as the President of the NC/GA Division at Advocate Health since June 2025. Prior to this role, Steven was the Chief Operating Officer at SSM Health from June 2018 to June 2025, overseeing operations for a $9 billion integrated healthcare system with nearly 40,000 employees. Earlier experience includes serving as Associate Chief Operating Officer at Intermountain Healthcare from April 2007 to June 2018, where responsibility encompassed operations across all 24 hospitals. Steven's career began at Appalachian Regional Healthcare System as Assistant Administrator, followed by roles including Hospital CEO at Brim Healthcare and Regional VP South Region. Steven holds an MBA in Business Administration from Brigham Young University and a BS in Health Care Administration from Weber State University.
