Steve Boczenowski

Steve Boczenowski retired from a forty-year career in hi-tech in 2018. His last position was at The MITRE Corporation as a computer security engineer, where he worked on a variety of contracts for the federal government. Throughout his adult life, Steve has been very involved in civic activities including town government, church leadership, Habitat for Humanity, and the Groton Interfaith Council, where he served as President from 2009 until 2014.

Steve experienced a life-altering event in December 2009 when his 21-year-old son, Jeffrey, died by suicide. Since that time, Steve and his wife, Deb, have been actively involved in the suicide prevention community.

Steve and Deb founded a non-profit organization—Teenage Anxiety and Depression Solutions (TADS). The mission of TADS is to address mental health issues, especially among young people, by raising awareness, providing education, and enabling access to care. In 2021 and 2022, Steve worked as a Community Educator & Prevention Specialist in Suicide Prevention at NAMI NH. He currently serves as the co-chair of the SOSL Subcommittee of the Suicide Prevention Council of New Hampshire. From 2014 to 2022, Steve served as Board Chair for Family Continuity, a provider of mental health treatment services in Massachusetts. From 2012 to 2017, Steve was an active member of the Massachusetts Coalition for Suicide Prevention (MCSP). Steve is well-known and respected within the suicide prevention communities in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Steve currently resides in Amherst, NH with his wife, daughter, son-in-law, four grandchildren, three dogs, and nine chickens. Steve enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, especially biking and hiking, and loves to read.
