James Muldoon

James Muldoon is the current Secretary at Advocates. James has over 25 years of experience as an attorney, managing partner, and patent attorney. James has also been a naval aviator.

James Muldoon started their career as an attorney at the Naval Legal Service Office, Great Lakes from 1990 to 1992. James then became a naval aviator for VP-11 from 1985 to 1987. After their time in the navy, they worked as an associate for Bond Schoeneck & King from 1992 to 1997. It was during this time that they became the firm's first registered patent attorney and grew the IP practice. In 1997, they joined Hancock & Estabrook LLP where they became the firm's first patent attorney. James grew the practice to six registered patent attorneys and became chair of the IP Practice Group. From 2004 to 2011, Muldoon was the Managing Partner of Marjama Muldoon Blasiak & Sullivan LLP, Central New York's largest Intellectual Property boutique practice. During their time as Managing Partner, the practice saw its greatest period of growth in attorneys, profits per partner and sustained dominant market penetration.

James Muldoon has a JD from the University of Chicago Law School, an SBCE from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Regent's Diploma from Fayetteville-Manlius High School.
