Jan Novak

Jan Novak is a seasoned environmental planner and scientist with extensive experience in ecological management, wetland delineation, and regulatory compliance. Currently serving as a Board Member for the Bay Planning Coalition and the German Saturday School of San Francisco, Jan represents the Port of Oakland while also holding the position of Associate Environmental Planner and Scientist at the Port of Oakland since 2017. Jan has a strong background as a Senior Ecologist at AECOM since 2014, focusing on Clean Water Act regulations, habitat restoration, and species surveys. Jan's prior roles include Senior Soil Scientist and Group Manager at URS, Soil Scientist at Huffman & Associates, and Researcher/Assistant Project Manager at David J. Powers & Associates, contributing significantly to wetland regulatory efforts and environmental document writing. Jan obtained a degree in Soil Science from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
