Vice President Corporate Affairs at Aecon

Nicole Court has extensive work experience in corporate affairs and communications. Nicole began their career in 1998 as a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto, where they conducted research for professors and a research center. Nicole then worked as a Communications Coordinator at Power Budd LLP from 2001 to 2003. In 2003, Nicole joined The Easter Seal Society, Ontario as an Associate Manager until 2006. Nicole then joined Aecon Group Inc., where they held various roles in corporate affairs from 2006 to 2022. These roles included Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs; Director, Corporate Affairs; Senior Director, Corporate Affairs; and Vice President Corporate Affairs. During their time at Aecon, Nicole was responsible for developing and executing external communication strategies, managing media relations, overseeing annual reports, and supporting stakeholder engagement efforts. Additionally, they were a member of the Forbes Communications Council in 2021.

Nicole Court completed their education with a focus on business administration and management. In 2017-2018, they attended the Ivey Business School at Western University for a Leadership Program. Prior to that, they pursued post-graduate studies in Communications at Humber College from 2000 to 2001. Nicole also holds an Honours B.A. degree from the University of Toronto - University College, where they studied History, Bioethics, and Renaissance Studies from 1996 to 2000. Additionally, Nicole obtained certifications in Carbon Literacy from Conestoga College (year 2023) and completed the Indigenous Canada program at the University of Alberta (year 2021).
