Iain Welsh has over two decades of work experience in various roles related to data and finance. Iain started their career at RBS in 1997, where they held several divisional finance and systems roles. Iain later became the Manager of Group Reporting and then the Head of Reporting Systems. In 2008, they took on the role of Head of Systems Development and implemented a customer-focused systems change function. Iain also led a team of developers and relationship managers across different locations. In 2010, they became the Head of Information Delivery and then the Head of Business Intelligence and Management Information Technology. In this role, they established a Centre of Excellence for Business Intelligence and was responsible for delivering change and transformation programs. In 2018, Iain joined Aegon as the Head of Data Governance and later became the Chief Data Officer. In 2020, they were appointed as the Director of Data for the Aegon Group.
Iain Welsh completed a BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies from Glasgow Caledonian University between 1992 and 1995.
