Rob Preston

Rob Preston has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Rob'smost recent position was as a Senior Test Engineer at AER Technologies, Inc. starting in April 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Quality Engineer at Vroom from July 2021 to April 2023, where they focused on developing Golang test automation and streamlining testing processes.

Before joining Vroom, Rob worked at United Wholesale Mortgage, where they held the roles of Quality Engineer III and Quality Assurance Analyst II. During their time there from September 2016 to June 2021, they created customized tooling, built Selenium scripts for front-end automation, and developed Razor pages and APIs for custom tooling.

Earlier in their career, Rob worked at N.S. International, Ltd as a Validation Engineer and System Engineer from September 2012 to September 2016. Rob'sresponsibilities included collecting customer information for system development, bug tracking, and conducting meetings with customers for issue resolution.

Rob's work experience also includes a role as a Computer Engineer at Oakland University from June 2011 to September 2012, where they converted a 16-bit OBD logger to a 32-bit microcontroller and built wrappers between the OS and microcontroller drivers.

Rob also participated in the Summer Institute in Bio-Engineering and Health Informatics (SIBHI) at Oakland University in 2008, where they gained research experience in protein folding using constraint logic programming.
