Sam Afifi

Sam Afifi is a seasoned reservoir engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as the UIC Permitting Lead at Aera Energy LLC since November 2021, Afifi previously held multiple roles at California Resources Corporation from May 2015 to December 2021, including Reservoir Engineering Advisor and Reservoir Management Team Lead, where significant contributions included managing non-operating thermal and water flood assets and leading a technical team to enhance field production by 10%. Prior experience includes serving as a Reservoir Engineering Advisor and Senior Operations Engineer at Oxy from June 2005 to May 2014, where efforts focused on optimizing asset value and executing capital plans. Afifi began career as a Field Engineer with Halliburton, performing well logging services. Educationally, Afifi holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining and Petroleum Engineering from Dalhousie University.
