Zohreh Azimifar

Zohreh Azimifar has held various positions throughout their work experience. Zohreh started their career as an Associate Professor at Shiraz University in 2006, where they continued to work in this role for an unspecified period of time. In 2009, they joined the University of Waterloo as an Adjunct Professor and also held this position for an unspecified period of time. In 2021, they became the Chair of IEEE Women in Engineering. Additionally, they served as the Chief Executive Officer of Turing AI Solutions Inc since December 2019. Zohreh has also been the Chief Scientific Officer at Aerialytic starting from January 2019. Lastly, they became the Chair of the Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Laboratory in January 2007.

Zohreh Azimifar has a strong education history in the fields of computer science, engineering, and systems design. Zohreh began their education in 1985 at Towhid Highschool, where they completed their diploma in Mathematics and Physics in 1989. Zohreh then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Shiraz University, which they successfully completed in 1994. Following this, Zohreh enrolled at the University of Waterloo, where they obtained their first doctorate degree in 2005. During their time at the University of Waterloo, they studied Systems Design Engineering with a focus on computer vision. Additionally, they pursued a second doctorate degree in Systems Design Engineering with a specialization in Engineering Systems & Computing, which they completed in 2004. Overall, Zohreh Azimifar has dedicated many years to their education, consistently expanding their knowledge and skills in the fields of computer vision, engineering systems, and systems design.
