Juan Carlos Villagrana

Juan Carlos Villagrana is an experienced aviation professional with a strong background in safety management and organizational improvement. Currently serving as the Flight Safety Director at Aeromexico since April 2019, Juan Carlos oversees the Safety Management System and risk management processes. In addition to this role, Juan Carlos holds the position of Vice President of Safety and Emergency Response for CANAERO-IATA, contributing to the executive board for the 2023-2024 term. Previously, Juan Carlos has held various significant positions, including Technical Director at CANAERO and Safety Manager at Aeromar. Juan Carlos is also co-founder of JCE Aviation Consulting and has served in mentoring and instructional roles at AENOR México. With a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering and a background in Aeronautical Engineering, Juan Carlos has been actively involved in safety initiatives, audits, and process improvements across the aviation industry.
