Siegfried Nijs

Siegfried Nijs has extensive work experience in the aerospace and software engineering sectors. Siegfried currently works at Aerospacelab as the V&V Lead and was previously the Project Manager. Prior to that, they worked at CGI as a System Architect & Team Lead, where they were responsible for system engineering, project management, and software development. Siegfried also worked at Luciad as a Senior Software Engineer & Project Lead on a military GIS research project. Siegfried's earlier experience includes roles at Spacebel as a Software Engineer & Technical Lead, where they worked on various aspects of the European Ground Systems Common Core project, and at Procom bvba as an IT Manager & Project Manager. Throughout their career, Siegfried has gained experience in system architecture, software engineering, project management, and various technical skills such as C++, Java, and communication protocols.

Siegfried Nijs has a diverse education history. Siegfried started by completing their Diploma secundair onderwijs with a focus on mathematics and sciences at Koninklijk Atheneum Keerbergen from 1996 to 2004. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Medicine at KU Leuven, which they completed from 2004 to 2007. In 2007, Siegfried furthered their studies in computer science by attaining a Bachelor's degree from KU Leuven.

Continuing their academic journey, Siegfried enrolled in KU Leuven and completed their Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in computer science from 2010 to 2014. Siegfried then pursued an Advanced Master's degree in Space Studies with a double degree from the University of Gent, which they accomplished from 2014 to 2017.

In addition to their formal education, Siegfried also participated in music performance at SLAC from 1997 to 2023, although specific details about their degree or field of study were not provided.
