Siegfried Nijs has extensive work experience in the aerospace and software engineering sectors. Siegfried currently works at Aerospacelab as the V&V Lead and was previously the Project Manager. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Medicine at KU Leuven, which they completed from 2004 to 2007. In 2007, Siegfried furthered their studies in computer science by attaining a Bachelor's degree from KU Leuven.

Continuing their academic journey, Siegfried enrolled in KU Leuven and completed their Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in computer science from 2010 to 2014. Siegfried then pursued an Advanced Master's degree in Space Studies with a double degree from the University of Gent, which they accomplished from 2014 to 2017.

In addition to their formal education, Siegfried also participated in music performance at SLAC from 1997 to 2023, although specific details about their degree or field of study were not provided.
