John Davenport

John Davenport has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. John started their career as a Process Engineer at Brown International LLC in 1997 and later became the Founder and Director of Operations at Equinox Information Technologies in 1999. In 2002, they joined Yucatan Fruit Processing as a Project Manager, where they successfully led a team in the development of a citrus processing facility in Mexico. John then worked as a New Business Manager at Brown International LLC from 2003 to 2005, responsible for origination and development of new business opportunities.

In 2005, John joined The AES Corporation as a Business Developer and managed the development of a large coal-fired generation project in El Salvador. During their tenure, they also explored and developed growth opportunities in Mexico, Central America, and Peru.

John's career at AES continued with roles such as Electricity Market Director from 2012 to 2014, Business Development Director from 2015 to 2019, and Director of Distributed Generation from 2016 to 2022. John then became the Managing Director of Bosforo Solar Generation Company, a joint venture between AES and CMI, where they successfully developed, built, and currently runs ten solar plants.

Most recently, John serves as the El Salvador Generation Complex Director at AES El Salvador, where they lead the Operations team for AES generation assets and oversees the development and execution of growth opportunities in the country.

John Davenport attended Bishop Moore High School from 1986 to 1990. John then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering with a focus on Food and Biological Process Engineering at the University of Florida from 1993 to 1997. Later, they obtained an MBA in International Business from the Thunderbird School of Global Management from 2004 to 2006.
