Alston Dcosta

Alston Dcosta is a seasoned professional in the clean energy sector, currently serving as Manager of Innovation Engineering - Advanced Grid Solutions at The AES Corporation since December 2019. In this role, Alston leads a team of engineers focused on developing and deploying advanced grid solutions, including microgrids and grid stability innovations. Previously, Alston headed the clean energy microgrid program at AES Clean Energy, overseeing the technology's full lifecycle, from research and development to global commercialization. With extensive experience in solar PV and battery energy storage system design, Alston has contributed to projects exceeding 1 GW in generation and storage capacity. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Energy Systems from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
