Travis Nels

Travis Nels has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Travis'smost recent position was as VP of Global Financial Planning and Analysis at The AES Corporation, where they led the finance team and supported senior leadership. Prior to this, they held the role of Interim Global Head of FP&A and Senior Manager of Strategic Finance at AES. Travis also served as the VP of Finance/CFO (interim) at Motor, an electric vehicle company incubated by AES. Travis has also worked at organizations such as William & Mary, SAFE, CSIS, NextEra Energy Resources, USCENTCOM, Air National Guard, Pratt & Whitney, and the United States Air Force, holding roles in finance, planning, strategy, and military operations.

Travis Nels holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, which they obtained in 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Oklahoma in 2008. Travis received their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Economics from William & Mary in 2002. Additionally, they completed the USAF Air Command and Staff College in 2016. Travis also possesses several certifications, including completion of courses in large language models and generative AI, and has passed the CFA Level 1 exam. Travis has also acquired various qualifications in areas such as customer-centric growth, digital transformation, systems acquisition management, Six Sigma, and different courses related to air operations and joint attack control.
