Joseph Vaz

Joseph (Stephen) Vaz is a seasoned legal and compliance professional with extensive experience in corporate compliance and regulatory frameworks across various industries. Currently serving as the Corporate Vice President & Chief Compliance Officer at AESC since August 2023, Joseph previously held significant roles at Saudi Aramco from March 2016 to July 2023, where responsibilities included managing comprehensive compliance programs in multiple areas, including anti-bribery and data privacy, particularly during the preparation for the world’s largest IPO. As the Founder and General Counsel of Pelias Compliance Consulting, Joseph provided multi-jurisdictional compliance consulting services initiated by a request from Nokia's Chief Compliance Officer. Joseph's career also includes a notable tenure at Accenture, where leadership involved overseeing global compliance monitoring and trade compliance, along with direct legal services support in Canada. Academic credentials include a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto Law and an Honours BA in History and Political Science from the University of Toronto.
