Monique Du Plessis is an Environmental Consultant specializing in Ecology at AESG since October 2023. Previously, Monique worked at ERM from June 2021 to October 2023 as a Consultant Ecologist, focusing on bird monitoring programs and impact assessments for renewable energy projects. Monique’s experience includes serving as a Consulting Senior Associate (Junior Ecologist) at ERM, conducting bird impact assessments, and as an Avifaunal Sub-consultant at Arcus Consultancy Services Ltd, where avifaunal field surveys were carried out at proposed wind energy facility sites. Monique was also the Youth Education Coordinator for Cape Bird Club, overseeing bird education programs for students. As a Master of Science student at the Fitzpatrick Institute of African Ornithology, research was conducted on the effects of supplementary nectar feeders on bird-plant pollination mutualisms. Monique holds an MSc in Conservation Biology from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor’s of Science in Conservation Ecology and Entomology from Stellenbosch University.
