Daniel Shafrir

Daniel Shafrir is a seasoned mechanical engineering professional with extensive experience in computer-aided engineering and mechanical design. Currently serving as the Mechanical Engineering Manager at Aeva since November 2018, Daniel leads a team focused on structural and thermal simulations and optimizations. Prior roles include Senior Mechanical Engineer at Aeva, CAE Lead for self-driving truck systems at Uber, and Mechanical Engineer at Otto, specializing in LIDAR and self-driving technology. Daniel also contributed to projects at Hyperloop One and Carnegie Mellon University, where a significant achievement included leading the Camera Systems team for the Astrobotic Rover during the Google Lunar X Prize competition. Academic credentials include a Master of Science and dual Bachelor's degrees in Materials Science and Engineering and Biomedical Engineering, all from Carnegie Mellon University.
