Steve Cardwell started their work experience in 2002 at Parker Hannifin as a Product Manager, where they oversaw ultra-high purity filtration products and served as a liaison between customers and plant manufacturing. Steve worked there until 2006. In 2007, they joined Lord Corporation as a Quality Manager, managing Quality Operating Systems and processes, working closely with Manufacturing, and overseeing various departments within the company. Steve held this position until 2020. Currently, they are the Vice President of Quality and Technical Services at AFC Industries, starting in 2021.

Steve Cardwell has an MBA with a field of study in Marketing from Indiana Wesleyan University. Steve also holds a degree in Chemistry (ACS Approved) with a field of study in Chemistry, Physics, and Math from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis. In addition to their academic achievements, Steve has obtained various certifications including VDA 6.3 Process Auditor (Automotive Industry) from MCS GmbH in May 2019, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) from LORD Corporation, A Part of Parker Hannifin in February 2015, IATF 16949:2016 Automotive Quality Management System from QAI in August 2014, and TS16949 Lead Auditor from Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc. in May 2012.
