Helena Ruken

Helena Ruken is an accomplished leader currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of AFC Toronto since April 2023. In addition to this role, Ruken holds positions as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the Toronto Soccer Association and as a Board Member for Refuge Enfants Pour Tous, both since November 2020 and February 2021, respectively. Previously, Ruken served as the President and Chair of the Board of Directors for North Toronto Soccer from November 2017 to November 2023. Educational qualifications include a PhD candidate (all but dissertation) in Theoretical Elementary Particle Physics from the University of Toronto, a Master's degree in Elementary Particle Physics from the University of Freiburg, and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Practice from Royal Roads University, along with additional studies at McMaster University and a Leadership and Inclusion certificate from the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion.
