Alex Tan

Alex Tan, CA has a diverse work experience. Starting in 2009 as a Controller Assistant at Terex Mining Canada, they then moved on to become a Senior Staff Auditor at the Office of the Auditor General of Alberta in 2010. In 2013, they joined BDO Canada as a Senior Accountant, Tax. Alex then transitioned to Westcan Bulk Transport in 2014, where they served as the Finance Manager, responsible for Financial Reporting & Analysis. In 2018, they took on the role of Angel Investor at Valhalla Angels, a Valhalla Private Capital Company. Concurrently, they became the Manager of Finance at Alberta Motor Association. Later, Alex joined the Electric Vehicle Association of Alberta as a Member of the Board of Directors. Presently, they hold the position of Operations Controller at AFD Petroleum Ltd. and is set to become the Chief Financial Officer at the same company in October 2023.

Alex Tan, CA holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Accounting from the University of Alberta. Alex also obtained the Chartered Accountant certification from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2013.
