Riaan van Tonder

Riaan van Tonder is a seasoned professional in clinical research and healthcare management, currently serving as Senior Vice-President of Clinical Research, Information and Data Outcomes at Affidea since May 2023. With a robust background, Riaan has held key leadership roles at Accelerated Enrollment Solutions, including Vice President of the Site Network and Global Delivery, where responsibilities spanned patient enrollment and clinical trial acceleration. Prior positions include Managing Director roles at Synexus and EyePharma, as well as a Medical Director at Forrester Pharma. Riaan's earlier career featured business development roles at Philips Healthcare and Takeda Pharmaceuticals, alongside clinical experience as a General Practitioner and Medical Officer in various healthcare settings. Riaan holds an MBChB from the University of Pretoria, an MBL from the University of South Africa, and a Diploma in Obstetrics from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.
