Jens Pahl has a extensive work experience in the field of immunobiology and NK cell functionality. Jens currently holds the position of Head of Innate Cell Biology at Affimed since January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Scientist and Scientist in the Translational Immunobiology department at Affimed from 2021 to 2022 and from 2019 to 2021 respectively.
Before joining Affimed, Jens Pahl was a Postdoctoral Researcher at both the University of Heidelberg and the dkfz - German Cancer Research Center. At the University of Heidelberg, they specialized in innate immunity and NK cell biology, conducted research on improving NK cell functionality, and supervised and advised students. At the dkfz - German Cancer Research Center, they investigated cancer-NK cell interactions, worked on improving NK cell-based immunotherapy, and supervised students and assistants.
Jens Pahl's career in the field of immunobiology started as a PhD student at Leiden University Medical Center, where they focused on their research from 2008 to 2013.
Jens Pahl started their education in 2003 at Universität Osnabrück, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell Biology. Jens completed this program in 2006. Following their undergraduate studies, Jens attended Leiden University from 2006 to 2009, where they earned a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences. Additionally, in 2007, they briefly studied Immunology at Karolinska Institutet and Virology at The University of Queensland in 2008.
