Roberto Calcedo

Vice President, Preclinical and Immunology at Affinia Therapeutics

Roberto Calcedo has over 20 years of experience in the field of preclinical and immunology. Roberto currently serves as the Vice President of Preclinical and Immunology at Affinia Therapeutics. Prior to this role, they were the Senior Director of Immunology Discovery and Senior Director of Immunology Core at the Gene Therapy Program at the University of Pennsylvania. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the Immunology Core, coordinating projects with external collaborators, approving data generated by the Core, generating reports and SOPs protocols, and developing and validating new assays. Roberto was also a Senior Research Investigator, where they developed an in vitro neutralizing antibody assay and detected and characterized T-cell mediated immune responses to AAV, AdV and transgene product. Prior to this, they were a Pre Doctoral Fellow at the Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea.

Roberto Calcedo received a B.S. in Biology and Microbiology from Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea in 1996 and a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the same university in 2000.
